The Pioneer 1523k says it will "pass thru" 4k. With an Xbox One S & Epson 5040.....will I be able to pass that Xbox One S 4k signal thru the Pioneer 1523k and to the Epson 5040?

I can't find an answer anywhere online.

Please help.

As long as they are not the 4 for $0.99 cheap quality, they should do fine for the most point.

Not sure about the AVR... According to Amazon's listing on it...

"4K Ultra HD Pass-through is the next-generation standard of ultra-high video resolution, boasting 3,840 x 2,160 (24 Hz/25 Hz/30 Hz) pixels or 4,096 x 2,160 (24 Hz) pixels."

No 4K @ 60hz HDMI 2.0 or DHCP 2.2... Xbox one S will need that to pass 4K blu-ray...and even more it needs HDR to support HDR gaming (BT2020, or HDR10). Also if you dont have DHCP 2.2 you wont be able to play back 4K blu-ray.

The Xbox one S will play but, for the most part limited to 1080p

My old Denon 4520 suffered from 4K at 30hz at max and could not even play 4K videos from a Dish network DVR... I ran into this and got a 4K switch (that does DHCP 2.2) that seemed to work till I got a new AVR. The swich was like $30 from China and works perfect..

DHCP 2.2 is a deal killer, if you dont have it, pretty much limits 4K content....

Most probably yes you would need new cables, but you need to experiment. I have seen HDMI 2.0 cables that are actually not 2.0 with 4:4:4 an also non-2.0 HDMI cables that don't have any issues syncing a signal to 60Hz 4K 4:4:4.
