Here we go again, one more up-grade
This one will be expensive (new AVP, one more amp, and four more speakers).
I intend to move into the Atmos game, but getting to understand the difference between these two model is a little confusing
Marantz AV7702mkII or AV7703
My intention is Home Theater only, Atmos and DTS:X only.
My current system is 7.2 and looking to add 4 more Bookshelf (same as my 4 surrounds) for the ceiling
Both mention 4K picture, one better than the other?
Both have Audyssey XT32, a very important feature for me, since I got two subs.
The AV7702mkII do have Atmos and DTS:X ready (I read this as upgradable).
The AV7703 has Atmos and DTS:X.
All the other option are pointless to me, no Wi-Fi, no...
Just a Blu-ray player using HDMI to the AV processor, then XLR cables going to my seven channel amp, and a new amp for the ceiling duty (also using XLR connections).
So it worth to spend the extra $1000 for the AV7703 for my application.
Please keep in mind, that I live in Canada and would also add another 300-350 or so to the price, and the speakers and amp also will be coming from the States.
Just confuse if it is worth the extra money or not (between the two AVP), just to get into those new format of sound for height speakers.
Any experience and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
