New Denon 920w receiver with older projector

I purchased a new Denon 920w receiver and cannot get it to output video to an Infocus In83 projector. After much research I think it might be an hdcp issue. The projector uses hdcp 1.3 and the Denon uses hdcp 2.2. Could this be the issue? Is there any way to make them work together?

I've got a x2300 with a older 720p 2008 Panasonic plasma that is HDMI 1.3 at best and it works fine. Also a x3300 with a 2009 1080p Panny plasma.

I don't think that's your problem. If you're not trying to pass 4K HDCP 2.2 content then the fact your projector is 1080p and a bit older should not matter.
