HDMI issue with older Blu-Ray player, HDR10 and Pioneer VSX-LX302.

First off, the LX302 manual states that all 6 of the back HDMI inputs and the front HDMI input support/use Copyright protection technology: HDCP1.4/HDCP2.2. I have no issues with PS4, XBONE and 360 game systems. However, when using the LG Blu-Ray player on any of the HDMI inputs on the back, video would be played without audio. After a while of trying to figure out the issue, I turned off HDR10 on the Hisense TV and then the audio would be played. Now when I connected the Blu-Ray player to the front HDMI input I get audio just fine with HDR10 enabled. Anybody know what's up with this? Why would the front HDMI input work fine, but none of the back inputs?

There's a longer internal cable run from the front panel input to the HDMI chipset. Maybe they added some amplification to those lines to compensate?

People have reported better performance with the front panel HDMI connection for some Denon receivers, too.
