Hi All,

I would like to know what is the best way to connect the following:

Cable tv and dvd player directly to the moniter with audio through the receiver

or

Cable tv/dvd player directly to the receiver and then to the monitor

I have a Fujitsu plasma monitor and the Yamaha RX-Z9 receiver
I have a HD digital cable box

I would appreciate all thoughts on this

Thanks,
Chris

General rule of thumb is to minimize the interconnects so "Cable tv and dvd player directly to the moniter with audio through the receiver" would be best. However, as long as your receiver had enough video bandwidth (or was one of the rarer ones that use relays to switch video), you probably wouldn't see much (or any) difference.
