My current setup is a Technics SADX930 HT Recv. with HKTS5 Speaker package. The HK speakers are great, i really like them alot. Small and extremly powerfull. They are a 5.1 speaker system.

My question is:

I am looking at the HK AVR130, AVR135 and the AVR235.

I dont really know if i will ever utilize a 6.1 or 7.1 setup. But i have seen on here where some say the 135 and 235 are better than the 130. If i plan on using the speakers i have now or upgrading to some higherend spakers in the future, what Recv would you suggest?

And with the speakers i have now, will i notice any difference in the sound from the recv i have now to one of these HK's? I guess what i really want to know is if i will be wasteing my money on a recv without new speakers? I dont have the money right now to get speakers also. But they are next on my list of upgrades.

I watch TV thru Directv Sat with a Dolby Digital DVR and i watch DVDs with a Sony DVD player, soon to be a progressive scan Multichanger.

Any help would be great guys. I dont listen to music so my whole system is for watching TV and DVD's.

Thanks
Scott

The 135 and 235 are both stepups over the 130 as they offer OSD (on-screen-display) and Component Video Switching which you will definitely use. The 135 is 6.1 and the 235 is 7.1, and their power output differences are minimal. If you want to hook up 6.1 or 7.1 you will need more satellites speakers but I would say get the 235 and use it for 5.1 then add 2 more back L/R speakers when you are ready..

Definately go for the 235. It's a good idea imo to get a 7.1 capable receiver, even if you only use 5.1 now... never know when ya just might..
