When does Denon usually release their new products?

Anyone know if a 3807 will replace a 3806? If yes, When?

Just Curious. Thanks.

We now have 2807, 1907, 1707, and 1507.

Bump for the 3807..........................

I do not remember when I bought my 3803 if there were that many models below it. Seems like a 2803 and one lesser model. I wonder (considering price point of 1100 and feature set) if the 28xx series will replace the 38xx series??

I've seen things you wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.

Last year they released the 4306 and 3806 around Sept/Oct I believe, perhaps thats the timeframe for the updated models?

most likely a 3807 will update the 3806, just as the 3806 replaced the 3805. I'm hoping it will combine the new features of the 2807 with the quality of the 3806.

FYI: There isn't much difference in the current quality of the 3806 verses the 2807. Both are great units but there specs don't differ too much. The 2807 has the upgraded Processor etc..

Unless I'm mistaken there are a few differences including upgraded DACs in the 3806.

Here is the comparison list broadwayblue, not much difference some, the 2807 has the newer processor. Slightly more on the wattage on the 3806 and the Audio Dacs are a tad better if you can here the differences. Regardless both are great units... I don't think the Dacs are upgraded I think they are implemented differently. Seems like all channels on the 3806 and just the analog side of the 2807..

Yeah, I think most people would be happy with either one. The 3806 also does HDCD and it weighs 8 pounds more. Basically they each have a few features the other one doesn't. Since it's nearly August and some new Denon models should be right around the corner (Sept./Oct.) I'm probably going to wait it out a couple months and see what the 3807 has to offer. Plus, my SA8300HD apparently still doesn't play nice with these HDMI switching models so I'm not in a terrible hurry just yet.

I wouldn't say that's most likely at all. The 5805 continues to happily march along without ever having had a 5806 intrude on its market. For the higher-end models, perhaps Denon will wait till next year and release some type of centenial versions in tribute to their 100th birthday.

Except for the fact that the new 5805MK2, along with it's $1000 higher MSRP than a 5805, is probably more or less the equivalent of something like what a 5806/5807 would be.... The only real difference is, is that they did not decide to call it a 5806 or 5807.

I see Denon release AVRs from March to Oct. Sometimes they don't release a new AVR for up to 1.5 years. 3806 was indeed Sept/Oct. So, it is possible that we will see a 3800 series in Oct. as 3807 or in March as a 3808.

I'd bet on 3808 with some of new audio codecs such as DD+, DTS-HD and TrueHD.

I hope we see it by Christmas (whether they call it a 3807 or 3808 doesn't matter to me).

Having heard both at the same volume level, I'd say the 3806 is the clear winner. It does everything better sound-wise, especially the detail and clarity of the surrounds.

Does anyone have any idea what might be different in the 3807 ?

I am currently in the market - and might wait if the feature set is rich enough to warrant. I am currently looking at either the Pioneer VSX-84TXSi or the Denon 3806 (possibly the 4306). But the sales droid I was speaking with the other day, while he had no further information, advised that I might want to wait for the 3807 which he said will be available in the Sept/Oct timeframe - and guessed the price to be similar to the 3806.

My main feature list is pretty straightforward - 7.1, I'd like 3 HDMI inputs, I need signal upconverting to HDMI (I don't want the wife and my little girl to worry about figuring out a mess of remotes to get something to work), at the minimum 1080p passthrough - I don't want to have to connect a separate cable to the TV to allow any 1080p signal to get through.

Thanks
-Tony

I'm really hoping for a 3807 by October. My wife wants the iPod compatibility, I want the HDMI switching/conversion and 3 room sourcing..

I'll keep watching

I bet they will show a 3806 replacement at the Jan CES show, but I doubt anything sooner than that. Maybe it will be available in the Jan-Feb 2007 timeframe.

Based on past products form Denon, I would expect it in March, and it to be called a 3808.

Got a friend who knows a big importer in Miami area and he said he heard that Denon will officially launch the new model during the next CES in Vegas (Jan' 07) and it'll be 3808. Product availability between Feb-Mar timeframe.

It'll have everything the 2807 has (compared to the 3806) + an improved Audyssey MultEQXT and 3 hdmi inputs as well.

The only missing thing (which is not a big deal, btw), is the THX badge.
In this particular, Denon pays royalties for the higher-end models only.
Well, let's wait and see whats gonna happen though...

Cheers / Avliner.

M Code, hope it is true. Then it is a must buy! But April, that is a long wait... I guess the timing is right as far as availability of HDMI 1.3 silicon etc. is concerned.

M Code what about a new Flagship replacement for the AVR-5805 and the AVR-4806? Will they also be announced at CES 07?

Any chance of Denon annoncing a new Flagship DVD player that also supports HD-DVD or Blu-Ray or both?
