Yamaha RX-V661

So far so good. My old receiver was at least 8 years old. So the difference was "ginormous". I now have HDMI switching. Damn my old receiver didn't even have component input. I'm currently looking to upgrade the speakers from my 8+ year HTIB speakers. So, so many speaker choices. Hard to choose. I guess ignorance is bliss. I've never heard any of the $700 a piece speakers so almost any speaker upgrade will probably satisfy me

Denon AVR-3803

It's been a great work horse over the years but I will be replacing it in a few months.

I'd love to get the 5308HD but the price is insane and I'll very likely end up buying the Integra 8.8, especially as it seems to offer almost what the 5308 does but for less than half the price.

Proc: Marantz AV8801, Amp(L + R): Densen B-150 Amp(C + Surrounds): Maratntz SR-9600, Blu-Ray Player: Cambridge Audio 651BD, Front Speakers: Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Centre: Dynaudio Contour S C, Rears: Legend Joey 2, Sub: Ruark Log-Rhythm, Screen: Sony KDL 55W900A LED LCD

Harman Kardon AVR 745

I had a Denon AVR 2803 that I sold three months ago. I bought a H/K AVR 247 but due to video scaling issues, I got a 645, then I found a good deal on the 745 refurb, then got that. All three of them have been great compared to my Denon. I am just in LOVE with the H/K receiver. I even bought an Onkyo 804 to compare. No comparison. It is that good.

I am using two HDMI inputs with it - one for PS3 and one for Sony HD-DVR DHG-HDD250.

Just replaced an Onkyo TX-DS484 with the Onkyo TX-DS595. My only complaint that holds water (to me) is that for some insane reason the 595 has an ON and an OFF button on the remote instead of just a 'Power' button that does both.

Denon 1803 that is failing. Lost an optical last weeek and the volume stopped working with the remote this week. Then it stoped switching to the DVD but the on/off still works. This was all we could afford 6 years ago but things have changed so we are going to build it better than ever now.

RXV-661, replaced my old Yamaha RX-V2095. Hard to say how much difference the receiver made since I also added an Outlaw 770 and upgraded my front and center channel speakers to PSB T65's and a C60 as well as a Toshiba A2 from Crutchfield for $199.
I am loving life! This is a great combo!

I have a Marantz SR8500 which replaced a Marantz SR96/DP870 combination. Both were used a majority of the time for HT. Other than those stupid Toslink flap covers that break off easily on the 8500, my receiver works awesome. Excellent sound quality. I also put in a HiFi Tuning fuse which made a subtle but noticeable difference in sound.

I have a Kenwood VR-8060. It sounds amazing in 6.1 surround sound. I have yet to find a good reason to replace it.

Eventually, I will replace my TV, which means I will obtain HDMI. I am replacing my HTPC vid card soon with an ATI 2600, which has HDMI. Once I get the TV, I might as well replace the receiver with a HDMI capable one.

I do have to say, this is the best receiver I have ever owned.

Sony STR-DA777ES.. In the closet waiting for further assignment after being retired for 5 years. Does not collect pension.

Classic Sony receiver, perhaps their best built receiver at that time. From what I understand, their build quality has changed. YMMV

Sony STR-DA1000ES. Paired with Polks, PS3...pretty nice. I just wish I had HDMI so that I could do some nice uncompressed PCM on Blu-ray, so I'm considering an upgrade.

Denon AVR-4306 (updated thanks to this forum).
Denon AVR-2807
Denon AVR-3805
Although the intial setups of these AVRs were not the easiest, the Denon AVRs sound the best (to me) and offer great value due to the quality of product.
