That would certainly be effective, but I'm not sure the appearance would pass the "Wife Acceptace Factor".

The front panel is black/dark grey so it should blend in pretty well.

These work very well:

I have them on all my electronics including the Emotiva stuff.

Thanks, I hadn't heard of these!

I was considering essentially cutting my own out of a leftover sheet of screen door tint film, but this ought to be MUCH easier, and look much neater!

Do you find they go on cleanly over Emotiva's weird rounded standby-buttons without crinkling, folding or otherwise looking ugly?

It moulds pretty well, it has a little bit of stretch to it. It can be a little fiddly, tweezers can help. If you use a size larger than needed for large domed shapes it creates a kind of skirt which can look good. Or press it on the centre of the dome but do not flatten it down so it creates a "floating disc".

You can also buy a sheet of the stuff for larger area/cut to fit and you can also layer it for a darker tint.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I ordered the original pack of cutout shapes. They work really well! I tried to take a picture, but backlighted sources never show up quite right, so you can't tell the difference.

Sadly, the largest circle was too small for the center Emotiva button, so I cut one of the larger rectangles to size and applied it. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to go on over the uneven Emotiva standby button without wrinkling, but the good news is that even with a big wrinkle in it, it is pretty damned hard to tell, if you stand further away than ~2ft.

I also put a couple of the smaller round shapes over the blue "everything is OK" LED's.

It's a huge improvement, and much easier than cutting multiple layers of my own screen door tint film.

You can turn the blue LEDs in the window off via a switch on the back of the unit.
