That's quite a big mistake if that's the case and it almost seems like they are intentionally trying to mislead people especially given the screwy wording of DTS-HD and TrueHD "decoding" support where they are selling it.

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but I bought the r-972 few mo ago and I am having an issue where the "hdmi " logo flashes on the bottom left of the display on my receiver and my picture on my 42" LG flashes between the movie or game I am watching or playing sometimes will stay completely black . Does anyone know if this is an hdmi cable going bad or how I might correct the issue ?

It could be a cable or you may want to try a different HDMI input on the R-972. I understand that they are not all identical.

I know this post is old, but why do you say they are typos? You didn't explain... From what I have read in the manual, Sherwood pages and most other sellers specs, it's true that it does not support DTS-HD or True HD; that's surely a typo. But this is an optional feature in HDMI 1.3 (according to Wikipedia), so I assume it does not preclude the receiver from having the standard 1.3 features. Everywhere else, including the manual, says it supports HDMI 1.3. Very serious typos and false advertising during all these years? I just ordered a cheap unit because I don't need most of the newer AVR features, but I do want (need!) the auto lip sync, which I think comes with HDMI 1.3, so I hope you're wrong! frown.gif
