So which of these has 7.1 pre-outs?

I don't care about the amp section.* I just want a pre-amp that can do hdmi --> 7.1 preout for my PS3.

I want to do a pre-order from JR music world for the Onkyo TX-SR605 7.1; However, I am looking at there web page and there is no mention off:

HDMI 1.3
TrueHD
HD Master Audio

If you pre-order and it does not come with the above feature, since it was not on there web page are we going to have a problem to get the money back?

It doesn't matter. Look at the pics of the receiver. It clearly shows DTS HD and True HD decoders. It can't do that unless it's a HDMI 1.3.

No animals were harmed in the creation of this sentence.

Here's the PDF. I've got more than enough bandwidth, so go ahead and spread this if you want.

URL removed, see post on page 6

Thanks to Joe for getting it to me.

edit again: this is for upconversion.

What I cannot determine is does the 705 pass-thru 1080p via HDMI. Or if it passes-thru any HDMI input. I don't want the video conversion.

I wouldn't call that conclusive by any means. The statement contradicts itself. How can it output 1080i as 720p if the "signal is output at its input resolution with no scaling"?

Also, the info posted by the Onkyo dealer in this thread seems to indicate that it does support 1080p

Well, according to that PDF, neither does the 805 or 705 or 575 or 505.

On one part it says, "Signal is output at its input resolution with no scaling" and then a few lines below it says 1080i is output at 720p. Which makes NO sense. Until Onkyo releases their specs, I would take this pdf with a grain of salt.

If you look at the description from Onkyo's site for the 505 it states:

"To best appreciate the versatility of the TX-SR505, think of the home entertainment components that define today's consumer electronics landscape. It's a formidable selection, with HD-ready displays (from the first generation to the latest 1080p models), DVD players (including the latest Blu-ray and HD DVD players), gaming consoles (such as the Xbox® and PlayStation® 3), set-top boxes (consider PVRs offering HD transmissions) and MP3 players (specifically the dominant iPod). With the TX-SR505's HDMI transport enabling pass-thru sources up to 1080p and component video supporting 720p and 1080i sources, this A/V receiver is a fine investment for those who want the best of what's available todayand tomorrow. Also, with the ability to tune the TX-SR505 to your room's surroundings through Audyssey 2EQ, you're looking at a seriously capable entertainment control center, without the excessive price tag."

So, through HDMI, you can do 1080p in and out. Which makes sense.

No... if you put 1080p in, you will get 1080p out.
Page 14 says that if you put 720p in (or anything else less than 1080p), you will not get 1080p out!

At least that what I read

READ THE ENTIRE PDF!

Specifically, page 11

If more of us valued food and cheer above hoarded gold, it would be a much merrier world.

I think this is the correct interpretation. Signal is output at input resolution without scaling (via HDMI or component), 1080p is output at 1080p from all systems.

edit: I'm going to assume the 1080i > 720p is just a typo and should read 1080i > 1080i.

Yes and No. I don't want to get Onkyo mad, until it's officially released for public consumption.

They DO accept 1080p in. And I'm sure you do not need to "process" video if you don't want to.

Thanks Eric.

My plasma only accepts 1080p/24 so I need the video untouched.

READ THE ENTIRE PDF!

You are correct according to page 14. It states that for models 505-805 with regards to component and HDMI video uponversion
- Signal is output at its input resolution with no scaling
