I am back looking at receiver upgrades due to HD upgrade. Yesterday, I visited the friendly showrooms around Dallas. I have come to the conclusion that the mid-level receivers are what I need ($700-$800). I liked the Sony v333ES and the Yamaha HTR5280, but would also like to consider the Kenwood VR4080B or VR4090B (control wire issues with existing stuff). However, nobody carried the Kenwood for me to look at. My questions:

Are these Kenwood models considered less quality than the others? Why?

Are there any other models that I should put in the mix? One store had the Integra 7.0 (last year model) for $900.

Is the Internet OK for receiver buy; which one?

BTW, I plan on using an existing universal remote (Home theater Master sl9000).

thanks for any comments

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the specs on the Outlaw; it appears that it does not have the ability for a B set of speakers. Am I correct here? that would eliminate it from consideration.

Thanks
Mike

Just a quick question.... Why do you need the B side of speakers?

If you have a customer that comes in and spends 2 hours with you and says, I think I am going to wait.... and you wanted to reply, "Sir, if Columbus waited he could have flown....." You might be an A/V salesman.

I need the b speakers because I have speakers in the garden room in the back of the house that are wired into the receiver for old basic stereo.
