I bought the RX-V2700 recently, and one of the things I was looking forward to relates to something I read in Audioholics review. With an RS-232 connection and "Yamaha's proprietary software" you can edit your receiver settings over a PC. A few other Yamaha receivers evidently have this capability too. Id really like to try it out, but it seems in my user manual there is Zero mention of the software and this capability, and googling doesnt help me find this alleged software either.

Do any of you know where to get this software, how much it costs, and how it works with your Yamaha receiver?

Thanks,
-Davio

At one time you could download it from Yamaha. You probably had to signup with them to get it, and it was free.

Try posting a request for a link in the 2700 thread.

It's possible someone can email it to you as well. It's small. I suppose it's a violation of the EULA to email it to someone, but I don't anyone is worried about that.

Rough business this movie business. I may have to go back to loan sharking for a rest.

Davio did you happen to get it somewhere? I've been trying to find that, too.

Is there a common receiver editor program for different models of yamaha receivers? I have an older RX-V1 and I would be interested in connectivity to my media pc.

I also have an RX-V1. I know the software was available, but Yamaha Canada isn't being very cooperative with me. Can anyone send me a copy?

bh965, how are you thinking of connecting to your media PC? I don't think the RS-232C is for audio transmission, just control function.

Does anybody know if the editor software exists for the RX-V1800?
I saw what the 2700 software looks like, and it looks like a great convenience for tweaking.
