same here dude

Sony S1, Samsung 1400, Toshiba XA2, Toshiba A35, Oppo 981, Oppo 980, Sony 995 changer, no delay issues at all

there is alot of delay in my display chain though(DVDO VP50pro, long HDMI run), I think most of my A/V syncs end up around -70 or so

Only 6 hours to rapidshare, better than waiting 3-5 business and a waiver.

After much scutiny and thinking I have decided to part with my 9.8. I am going to go with the two box solution from Cary, the Cinema 11a & 11v. The Integra has been a fabulous performer for the month I have owned it, but seeing as I still tend to spend more time in 2 channel than in home theater I think the Cary will be a better solution for me. I will do some direct A/B comparisions before parting with the 9.8.
So, I wanted to mention this here first, before going the A*gon or E* route. I know many of you are struggling out there to find a unit, so I am offering mine to you guys first. I should have my Cinema 11a within about two weeks and I will ship the 9.8 as soon as I receive my Cary piece. If you are interested please send me a PM and we will see if we can work something out. This is in NO WAY a bidding war so the first person to contact me that works out a deal with me will have themself the unit.

SOLD SOLD SOLD please no more PM's

Zeroendless,

I have e-mailed it, but it bounced back as being too large. I also CC'ed it to the other address you gave me. Hopefully that one makes it to you.

The DTC-9.8 and 885 firmware should be identical. I, in fact, updated my 885 with the 9.8 1.04 firmware last week. Glad the black level is fixed...had to bypass Reon previously because of it.

the Onkyo 885 has a "Onkyo" logo on screen when you power up, not Integra, so I wouldn't mix firmwares unless that isn't contained in them or affected

did you notice that change on your unit?

Gary,
The Onkyo logo is still there. Settings were all saved. I downloaded the 885 firmware and although I did not do a bit-for-bit file compare, the file names, sizes and date stamps are the same.

Actually no. Sandy Bird is doing a review though. I will be doing supplements to the review including a look at the video section and a report on the Audyssey Pro calibration stuff.

I ordered a 9.8 in July, I think. On October 5th, I gave up and ordered an 885 from Troxell. It arrived yesterday. Troxell is a weird company. Everybody is very nice. Customer Service is top notch but they didn't have a clue about my order. I was finally told by the manager, who called Ekei, that my order would be shipped on the 5th. I apparently go the last one out of 7 they were able to get. They also said that they haven’t seen demand like this before in that the 885 is pre-ordered far into the future.

I wasn't given a tracking number and they weren't even sure if it was shipped but I came home yesterday and there it was on my porch.

At the end of the day, kudos to Troxell because they gave me a great price and got it to me in a month as promised.

I haven't set the unit up but I did check the firmware...it's 1.04. I couldn't help but notice how flimsy the face and the case are compared to my Sherbourn pre-pro. I have a new appreciation for the Sherbourn. It's thick and solid.

Having said that, the 885 is a beautiful looking unit, IMO. Very attractive and elegant looking and I'm glad I got it.

I guess, what I'd like to leave you guys who are still waiting with is this; I had to wait but during my waiting the firmware was updated and it's possible that while you’re waiting more updates will be done so that when you get your unit, it will be a more "finished" pre/pro than I've got.

Hello,

I must have got the second from the last one from Eiki International. I talked to my rep and Eiki was supposed to get 37 of the units not 7. My rep said that in all the years he has had Onkyo as a line he has never seen such a demand for one product. I opened mine yesterday. I hope it sounds as good as it looks the build quality is unbeleivable! All I need this unit to do along with my Halo amps is make my Klipsch heritage system sing for 5.1 untill my YBA YA701 gets here.

Movie time with all my favorite demos this weekend!!

Interesing. I;m tempted to load 885 Fw on my 9.8. I wonder i can add pure mode with 885 FW.

Can you check, using remote or swicth surround mode , your pure mode is still there?

Thanks

Nope. The service manager said they got 7. They may have ordered 37 but they only got 7 from what I was told.

I purchased on October 2nd from Troxell and I'm still waiting. Here's hoping the delay is due to fixing some of the bugs.

Also, can someone point me to the discussion of the lip-synch issue confirmed on this unit? Or better yet, explain again what the problem is and the likely culprit? Is the problem definitive on all units, or is the issue sporadic? Thx.

That's what I was trying to say in my confusing words. My Arcam AV9 and Halo C2 were not near as heavy as this unit. What's in side this thing cement? LOL

You would be doing us a favor if you could do some analysis of the Audio delay. I think two Preamps running at the same time from the same source should do the trick.
