Anyone know if the Pioneer VSX-94TXH (or any other receiver) will auto switch on the four HDMI inputs, or do you have to change the inputs manually?

I'm not believing/understanding this. You're telling him that the 94TX will auto switch the HDMI inputs? I'm not aware of any receiver that does any auto-sensing of a signal to change your input. You have to manually change inputs. Please explain.

There is a Wilshire Home Entertainment store in Thousand Oaks on Moorpark Rd. They will generally give you at least 10% or more off the 94TXH.

Good to know they are still there. I moved away 5 years ago. Great group of people there.

Quick question, I just ordered DTV as well as this the 94 receiver. What brand cables do you suggest and are the lesser know brands really that bad compared to the Monster cables. Any suggestions? Thanks, Greg

Well, the bottom line is that if you buy retail you're going to pay much more than you should. If you go somewhere like Best Buy, they carry Monster and a less expensive brand (can't remember the name right this second). The less expensive cables they sell are just fine, but they're still significantly more than you need to spend for quality cables. Unless you just want the cables today, I'd order them from Monoprice. You can even pay extra for rush shipping and come out A LOT cheaper than you would retail.

Rocketfish? Still far too expensive for what they are, if you're referring to digital cables (HDMI, DVI, etc).

I was thinking of Acoustic Research, but that's exactly what I just said, they still cost significantly more than what you need to spend for good cables.

With no warranty. I paid 15% less than retail at MAgnolia. A little more than an online price and I get the 2 year warranty.

I am having the same problem and tried both my PS3 and the Sony BDP-S1, and can not get either the Dolby True HD or the DTS HD to play thru the 94. In fact even when I switch audio modes it does not seem to make any difference in sound. At this point, I am not convinved it either works, or I am doing something wrong with the configuration of either the 94, or the Blue Ray Players

Well, those aren't authorized dealers of Pioneer, and the Elite has a 2 year warranty via Pioneer. So I'm assuming you're allegedly getting some type of in-house warranty from those places. If you're willing to take that risk, that's fine, but don't keep promoting these links to other people as if they're getting the same kind of peace of mind as buying from an authorized retailer.

The only player on the market right now that can send bitstream Dolby TrueHD or DTS-MA to a receiver such as the 94 is the Samsung 1400 Blu Ray player (and only with a recently released firmware upgrade). All other players, currently, must decode the TrueHD or DTS-MA into PCM *in the player* and transmit the resulting PCM to the receiver. Eventually, more models will be released that can bitstream to a receiver, and probably some other existing models will be updated in firmware. I have not heard any rumours of the PS3 getting upgraded. Currently it can decode TrueHD in the PS3, and DTS-MA is rumoured to be added by Christmas time. So in other words, what you're seeing is perfectly normal. This has actually been discussed several times in this thread already.

Anyone have a A35 hooked up to this beast? Are you getting the TrueHD, DD+, and DTS Master logos light up?

I'm also assuming there isn't any LFE issue with this release?
