Does anyone know where I could purchase an adapter to be able to hook up my Pioneer DVL-700 Laserdisc Player to the new Yamaha RX-Z11??? I presently have the RX-Z9 which had the direct connection built in. The new RX-Z11 does not. Ihave an extensive laserdisc collection that I hope I may still be able to use. I will be trading the RX-Z9 to help cover the cost of the new one, so keeping it is not an option. Thanks, Tom

Tom

If what you're looking for is a RF-Demodulator I just saw a Pioneer RFD-1 on ebay, it says is brand new, price $400w/shipping , I also saw on ebay a Yamaha APD-1 brand new, price $198. Both are excellent A/V brands but, since Pioneer was the best laserdisc equipment manufacturer I think you should consider the RFD-1

Good luck.

There's also the Lexicon LDD-1, though I don't think it is made any longer. I have one and have PM'd you some info.

Wow! That's a lot of $ to get a 384kBps DD signal. I guess I'll stick with 2ch PCM and DTS.

Since just about every CE company has dropped the AC3/RF input from their receivers/preamps, the outboard demodulators have become mega-profit items ... especially since nobody is making them anymore.

Yeah, I looked and looked for one at a reasonable price, but any available at a reasonable price are snapped up very quickly by resellers to turn a profit.

Eventually, I got very lucky and searched eBay a couple of minutes after somebody posted an RFD-1 with a "Buy it Now" price of about $80. It took several months of watching the auctions and other lists like a hawk before I got that break, though.

Good luck on your search!
