If one is only concerned about reproduction of the home theater sound stage and probably never use this device for anything but home theater, what would be a good choice. It must be able to process the best of what ever HD DVD or BD has to offer and provide flawless HDMI switching. 1080P up-scaling is not even required as a high end scaler is in use. I'm on the fence, about to order a Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH but wonder if I will ever need all the bells and whistles. It sure is pretty though

Current owner of the last/best AmPro on the planet. The mighty 4600HD, and it's still running...better than Barco's, especially southern ones.
