My experience is the SSP-800 is a superb sounding multifunctional preamp processor that just like any computer, occasionally requires a reboot.

That said, after the latest 3.1.0 firmware install I have had no issues. Then again, it's only been about a week since the latest version was installed.

In my case it should be a pretty good test as I'm using all of the HDMI inputs (DirecTV Genie, Oppo BDP 105D, PS3, Lenovo PC video only, and an Amazon Fire Stick).
I'm also using all of the analog inputs (Stereo XLR from Oppo, 7.1 analog from Oppo, Meridian DAC from the Lenovo and JRiver; the last RCA input is used for ProJect phono preamp.

Both HDMI outputs are in use as well.
Thanks for this ....I am awaiting my dealer who will be making a house call(or can it be called a Home Cinema call !) to download the Firmware upgrade .Nothing like loading a whole fresh Firmware version .

Hi WSE,

The SSP-800 will never have Dolby Atmos or DTS:X capabilities. Classé is currently working on a replacement for the SSP-800 that will include 3D audio capabilities for large systems.

While the SSP-800 will not support 4k, the replacement for the SSP-800 will.

It might be available in the back half of 2018, but probably not. These kinds of projects take years before an actual product is brought to market.

So true Patrick. I am waiting for either your team, or Theta to complete their updated new processors. I hope it comes out well for you.

Are you running at Atmos system, and if so, how many channels?

I am still at 5.1x2 presently. I am trying to figure out how to do 7.1 in my dedicated room since I am using floor standing speakers. I may add Atmos in another system in my den. I am not touching my ceiling since it is treated with Vicoustics for absorption/diffusion.

Great looking setup!

With the kind of system that you are running, you are probably not going to need the kind of capabilities that would be in the SSP-800 replacement. Personally, I would be looking at the Sigma SSP Mk2.

Awesome system Sharp1080! Are those Wilson Maxx speakers? Sure look like it.

Your speaker array combined with your acoustic treatments and fine electronics must make for an exceptionally superb sounding system.

Nicely done!

Thank you for the compliment. It has taken a long time to get there. Yes they are Wilson Maxx 3's powered by Theta Prometheus monoblocks. It is easy to get "absorbed" into the movie or concert video especially with lossless audio.

I blew the fuse earlier on the ssp800. There are 2 fuses in the case. Does anyone know if the other is a spare? Haven't had a chance to go to the hardware store.
And speaking of fuses, has anyone replaced theirs with after market fuses? I'm reading that the Synergistics blk fuses are quite an upgrade on SQ.

Jose.

I'm liking the new design. The fun of meters without the compromise of autoformers. I call that progress.

My experience is the SSP-800 is a superb sounding multifunctional preamp processor if only it could be upgraded to do ATMOS DTS:X and AURO 3D!

I hear the replacement will be at lest $15,000 or more DATASAT here it comes

This looks really cool http://www.lyngdorf.com/products/electronics/mp-50

Interesting 10 years later here we are!

Remember this

Classé Audio SSP-900 : Ultimate Surround Sound Processor

23 janvier 2007

Classé Audio unveiled another beauty here at CES : the most elegant SSP-900.
The SSP-900 promises user-friendly touchscreen operation with a second front-panel screen dedicated to previewing video information independent of other display devices in a home theater system. It combines full differential audio circuits, broadcast grade 1080p Video Processing/Scaling and Multi-zone operation.
Analog audio inputs include four single-ended and one balanced as well as accommodations for a discrete 7.1 source. Digital audio sources enjoy six coaxial, one AES/EBU, and six EIAJ (TOSlink optical) inputs. The processor accommodates up to four HDMI audio/video sources and features four component, four composite, and five S-Video inputs as well.

The dual power supplies, one toroid-based linear design for analog circuits and a high-speed switching supply for video and digital processing, combine for optimally efficient use of AC power.
All analog audio circuitry is full-differential for maximum noise rejection and dynamic range. Digital components include advanced Cirrus Logic analog-to-digital (A/D) converters featuring 24-bit/192 kHz conversion. An advanced Texas Instruments microprocessor handles all internal decoding while complimentary Burr Brown digital-to-analog (D/A) converters bring the full-resolution signals back to the analog domain for output as needed.

A sophisticated Gennum video processor/scaler, noted for its use in HDTV broadcast-level applications, provides patented Visual Excellence Processing that includes dynamic edge detection, film mode processing, and detail enhancement.
The SSP-900 will be available in March, 2007 at a retail price of $25,000 US.

Of course you do, you work for the company so you can't say anything else otherwise you might get the boot!

I sure hope that the SSP-900 or SSP-1000 as it might be called will still look elegant, love the look of the SSP-800 no other pre/pro look as hood maybe except for the DATASAT
