Do I need HDMI 1.3a with new equipment..help - AVS Forum

I've read a lot of the forums, but still can't find a straight answer...I just bought the Onkyo SR805 and will be using it with a PS3, Toshiba HDA2, Sony projector......wiill I or do I need the HDMI 1.3a cables for the best possible audio/video??

Thanks...I've bought many cables from Monoprice....I just don't know enough about 1.3a...and is it that necessary.

MIKE..

Really depends upon a number of things..
One the actual signal being transfered..
If high resolution video then better cables are suggested.
Additionally..
Cable length also plays a major part, lets say one has a 20' run from the AVR HDMI out to the HD video projector..
Do not get suckered into that you need to get the $250 HDMI cables.
But stick with known, proven brands rather than the bargain bin special..

Just my $0.02..

They don't really cost that much to worry about it, just get the 1.3 Cat 2 certified and be assured for a only a couple of dollars more.
