I have access to spools of single wire that are used on commerical jobs. It's 12 and 14 gauge. It just has the standard jacket on it and not the jacket like 3/4 wire has on it for in wall installs. Would the 12/14 gauge wire I have be sutiable for a small residential room installation?

For what? Perhaps for speaker cable but probably not for line level audio and certainly not for video.
