I bought a preowned house and need to get the ceiling speakers working.
I have the following:
Living Room - Rear Right, Center, Left in the Ceiling.
42" Panasonic Plasma and a Sony Receiver
Six Zones throughout the House:
2) Living Room
3) Kid's Room
4) Extra Bedroom
5) Master Bedoom
Russound LPTx75 Watt (1370419) Switches in each of the zones.
The Living Room is small so the speakers need to good but not over the top. I am big music fan (Springsteen, Classic Rock, and Singer Songwriters).
I also want to able to use my Apple Airport Express so I can listen to itunes and internet radio while I am outside at our Pool.
I got three recommendations from three separate AV installers:
AV Tech #1
Niles 12 Channel Amp
A Second Receiver
JBL Front Bookshelf Speakers (R, C, L)
AV Tech #2
Sonance Sonamp 275X3 SE $470
Sonance Symphony S622C (R, C, L) 3 Speakers $510
Denon DRA39 Receiver $277
AV Tech #3
Knoll Amp GSZ67
This dude is giving a great deal on the gear.
I am leaning towards AV Tech #3.
My question is - Am I selling myself short with the Knoll, Sherwood Receiver, and Pinnacle Speakers? AV Tech#2 thinks I am and I think he may be right.
