I'm very new here so bear with me. This site has already been helpful while I researched components, and I expect I will be coming here more frequently as I'm sure I'm likely to run into more a few hiccups along the way as I put this together over the coming weeks. First, here are the components I have purchased (several are still in transit haha):

TV: Panasonic TC-P42C1
Receiver: Pioneer VSX-919ah-k
HD Cable box/DVR: Whichever manufacture Bright House uses (I'll update when I get home)
Speakers: Energy Take 5 Classic
Sub: Energy ESW-8HG 8" 200 watt Take Classic
DVD player: Sony DVP-NS75H

I've also got an order placed at Monoprice for 100 feet of speaker wire, banana plugs, HDMI cables, speaker stands for the front, and wall mount brackets for the rear speakers. I have a Monster surge protector/outlet as well.

First question would be, am I missing anything? And what is the best way to connect the sub to this system? I've also been reading about keeping speaker wires and cables away from electrical wires. What are some practical suggestions for achieving this? at some point the speaker wires are going to get close to the power cords since they all plug into the receiver right?

Also, I rent in an apartment complex. What should I do if I encounter hum from a ground loop?

Sorry for the very vague and general questions. these things have just been kicking around in my brain lately.

You'll need something like this to connect your sub:

Thanks. It looked like something was missing. I know I can hook the sub up with speaker wire but it seemed like there would be a better way.

Why not just run a cable from the lfe or sub out of the reciever to the sub? All you would need is a cable that is RCA male to RCA male. Like this...http://www.amazon.com/Male-Quality-C.../dp/B000HDJXNA Why a cable with RG6?
