Hi,

I just pulled out an old DB25 cable which I bought in 2001 or 2002 to connect my Carver 885.1 receiver to a DVD player. This cable has 6 RCA on one side and the DB25 connector on the other side. The color coding is different from the latest color coding I have seen for 7.1 Audio.
The colors of RCA are red, white,green,blue,orange,tan.

How can I figure out which connector is which?
Red/White => Front channels?

Is there anything on the Carver site? It may match the computer convention so you could go to the Creative web site, or any PC website, and see what they are using. However, it sounds like a custom cable to me. The easiest thing to do is to just hook it up and test each speaker using test tones or whatever and eliminate all doubt. - Don

Will a test tone on the sub input cause any problem for the sub? I am just worried about that, otherwise I can test out pretty fast and figure out.

Later Added:
Stupid Q, I can just disconnect the sub for testing...

just happened to see this post while looking for something else before I sell my 885.1

I have my db25 instructions at home... if you still need the info, I can check it when I get there.
