Is there a device that would allow me to convert the digital audio from my PS3 with TOSlink to three 3.5mm (ANALOG) connectors for Logitech surround sound speakers. forgive me if i am in the wrong section

Nah. Toslink is digital. You'd need a decoder to deal with the multiple channels in the bit stream and you'd need DACs (digital to analog) to get to analog signals. The device that does this is typically called an AV receiver or surround processor. It's possible someone has a black box that does all of this for you; but, I suspect that black box would cost more than the speakers.

Yes. The most direct and effective approach might be to replace the present speakers with a Logitech setup that accepts TOSlink.
