ipod(source) ----- HK receiver ----- stereo speakers x3 (L+R x3)
The goal is to have 3 sets of stereo speakers playing the same thing.
The receiver is a Harman Kardon AVR-630, it does have a "7 channel stereo" mode but does not state EXACTLY which speakers will get used, only "this mode places the same signal at the front-left and surround-left, and at the front-right and surround-right speakers." There are 2 types depending on configuration: 5.1 and 6.1/7.1, but it does not state wether the 7.1 setup again creates another pair of stereo outs or just does the "four corners."
IF it does create the 3 pairs, I'm in business, as this mode will do bass management.
If not, I have to:
-Get an external crossover as the direct in on the HK does not do bass management
-split the L&R 1/4" TRS x4 and convert to RCA to use the direct inputs on the HK + inputs of the 2nd receiver for the outdoor speakers
SO I'm planning for worst-case. I guess it might be easier to find a 4x TRS splitter... but what I really need to know is: will i need to amplify the signal to feed all 4 inputs?
