Hey all

I have bought a new receiver and now things are snowballing. The TV is going to be mounted above the fireplace which has a stepped brick chimney, i.e. the brick below sticks out half a brick from the one above, like steps.

I am trying to find a thin centre speaker. Does anyone know if the KEF T101C or T301C could hold their own against a set of bookshelf speakers (they are KEF Coda, so old, but still make a lot of noise) or would it just get swamped? I really would love to buy a proper centre speaker box but dont have the space, it needs to be thin and low profile but not above £300 (ish).

Does anyone know how they would fair?

The T101c would seem to be the obvious choice.

Keep in mind that a center speaker does not need to have any response below 120 Hz or above 5 Khz, assuming that the front speakers are adequate.

A center speaker can actually be quite small; a pair of 4" drivers is usually quite sufficient.
