Hey all,
this might be a stupid question and not sure in which section to put it under, but here it is anyway...

I have 2x 18" IXL machs subs ported at the front of my room, running on 1x ep4000 behringer amp.
To me the bass is very strong, deep, laud if i want it to be, and when watching some decent movies i do tend to crank it up a bit more if the movie deserves it smile.gif
My problem is, i also now have a 600L aquarium at the back of my room 12mm thick glass, at about 8metres away from subs ( not that it matters im guessing).

Concern is, can the aquarium glass crack/break/shatter from the bass?
Does anyone have something similar?
My windows in the room havent broken when i cranked it up before i had the aquarium so im guessing it should be fine, but damn... id hate to spill 600L of water all over my room just to find out!

It is pretty unlikely the subs will break the glass. Too much vibration could cause a leak, however, depending on what shape the adhesive that joins the sides and bottom is in. The most likely scenario is that it will bother the fish (may have breeding issues).

I do not have any idea if it would leak or break but I doubt it. Aquariums are obiously made to take some serious pressure, especially if it is 600 gallons, might even be a solid acrylic tank, which is actually used on some subwoofers.

But something to consider is the well being of the fish. Fish are very sensitive to vibrations, if you deal with nicer fish people will be strict about not tapping on glass. This can stress them out and they can just die. But then again you would think in their natural environment they might experience some heavy base, think ship motars etc..

^ I have never seen one break but have seen several leak.

I used to breed fish; some are more sensitive than others to things like sound.
