So I'm tucking this speaker wire under the carpet and wonder if I need to basically do this twice for my two rear speakers in my 5.1 system? I have 2 rear speakers and it my understanding I need to run the wire to the back of the room twice, which means I need to tuck the speaker wire under the carpet twice, right? I'm just worried that there won't be enough room to tuck the wire under the carpet two times one seems to work fine but I think it might be tight trying to tuck it under 2 times...

If I understand you correctly then yes, you need to run two lengths of two conductor speaker wire in order to feed your surround channels.

Can you tuck it under you baseboards along the walls? Rather have some showing than all of it....
