I hope this is the right forum for this topic.

I am new to this and being that this equipment is pretty old school I have had no success with internet searches.

I have a Yamaha KX-88 running into a E-Mu Pro performance 1+ piano module. I am simply trying to set up a practice piano for home use. Are there simple speakers that will run from the piano module? I hooked it up to a small guitar amp and got tone for about 5 seconds before it started buzzing and my midi controller lights started flashing. Powered down everything and it all seems fine but dont want to fry anything.

Thanks in advance.

HERE is the manual.

From page 9.

You can use headphones (with adapter if needed) getting stereo from the Left/Stereo output.

Or you could use two Phone->RCA adapters and connect it to a receiver or amplifier -> whatever passive speakers you have.

Or you could use powered monitors that would each connect directly to the E-MU.
