If this has been answered somewhere before I would appreciate someone pointing me there but otherwise could you please help?
I have a large room (16x25x9) I want to convert to a HT. That is all the room would be used for. It is a very quiet room. I see a lot of time, effort and expense in these forums about building/rebuilding rooms to prevent sound from coming in or out. I can understand this in a lot of situations (neighbors, kids, road noise, bleed to rest of house, etc.) but If I am not worried about sound in or out of the HT is there really any benefit to going first thru the "create a closed box" trauma to my acoustics? Can I get really, really good HT sound just using traps, diffusers, and absorbers for a situation such as this? Thanx.
