Hi, all. I've had my Onkyo TXNR905 for 5 years now, and never did try the Audyssey setup program. I completely rearranged my theater and decided to give it a try. I was amazed at the accuracy of the speakers size, levels and distances it calculated, but after the setup was run *all* of my speakers now have a crackle and hum coming from them. The crackle and hum loudness does change with a change in volume, and it's very, very audible. Any idea what the problem could be?

You say you rearranged your theater. I would like to know if that is the issue, rather than this being some weird side effect of Audyssey.

Did you try out your rearranged theater before running Audyssey? I would love for this to be the real root cause.

Have you tried turning Audyssey off to see if the problem persists? I'd like for the problem to be independent of Audyssey.

Are you running things off of multiple outlets? It is of course very hard to tell from your post, but your hum could be the result of a 'ground loop', which basically means an electrical imbalance between pieces of your A/V equipment. Typically this is caused by different ground states between two outlets, or perhaps for your cable line.

Speaking of cable, if you've got it, try disconnecting it to see if the issue disappears.

Well, I feel a bit like a dunce. I DID try turning off the receiver to no effect, but nothing else. I basically reset my entire system and the hum is gone. Thanks for your reply!
