I have a 12 inch bulkhead that runs across the middle of my room (side to side). Do I need to add any treatments to it like bass traps? It is not in the reflection points for my speakers, but wasn't sure what is best practice for a bulkhead. The front half of the room past the bulkhead has no seating.

The acoustic affect of "stuff" in a room depends entirely on their size and location. If you can post a photo that will help. But all rooms need bass traps and other treatment for best results.
