I bought 12g speaker wire from monoprice - 100ft roll. Problem is, I don't have enough speaker wire, my calculations were off. I really need this done this weekend so ordering online is not an option. Is it ok to mix brands of speaker wire so long as it is the same gauge?

Just don't splice it inside a wall.

Thank you much guys! Is there a particular brand of speaker wire I should avoid and favor from, say, a Home Depot for example?

If it is going in the wall, it needs to be architectural cable with a CL2 or CL3 rating. You may have to order it.

Just get some 12g stranded power cable, they should have in-wall grade in stock.
