Simple question, I would assume it would be best for the Mains to be facing AWAY from the wall of your neighbor?

I know if its loud enough they will be able to hear but seeing that the speakers do have air ports would that make any difference?

You know, it's not really going to make much difference.

The larger wavelengths of the lower frequencies is what typically causes such issues. The energy contained in the LF, and those big waves are very tough to contain without specific soundproofing best practices.

The only things you can do to limit the amount of bass egress next door, are listen at lower levels (duh eek.gif ), and sit somewhat closer (that way you retain same relative level). Also, you can make sure there's no physical transmission via vibrations, w/mouse pad like foam (or anything really) if needed under the speakers or sub.

Good luck with this

+1.

Digital wireless headphones can work a treat. I use a pair of Sennheiser RS 170 headphones driven by a 30 band graphic equalizer and achieve among other things a pretty decent timbre match with my speaker system.
