Recently purchased a VSX 822-k receiver as well as a pair of tower speakers (Sony SSF-5000 Floor Standing Speakers). Problem is that I am not getting any audio sound through to the speakers. I have tried the basic troubleshooting but with no luck. If anyone has any thoughts on where to begin on how to everything set-up to run properly it would help out greatly.

A secondary question that run along the same lines is I am trying to run my Apple TV through the receiver as well but it isn't showing up on the my TV once connected. Is this just a basic problem in the I don't have a HDMI cord set up correctly?

I used to be good with this tech stuff but its a little too advance for me now, I'm much better at working on my Ag Equipment and my Truck.

Thanks for any and all help.

You presumably have the speakers connected to the front L/R speaker terminals.

With a CD player or ANY signal going to the receiver input jacks, and the correct input selected, there has to be output to the speakers.

If not, the receiver must be defective.

Make sure you don't have the "mute"

Have you tried just selecting the AM/FM tuner function to see if there is some sound?

The HDMI OUT on the receiver should have a cable going to the HDMI IN on the TV.
