Hello, recently i got a home theater 5.1 system. However there was an extra subwoofer in my cabinet that can be used. Can i plug both the subwoofers into the same amplifier?(join both the wire and put into the same plug) . sorry i'm not tech savvy.

If you are using an AVR (receiver) and the LFE output to two powered subs, buy an RCA splitter to split the signal and run a separate RCA cable to each sub - this signal can be split no problem. If you are using an actual "amplifier" to drive a passive sub (rare) connecting another sub may be an issue and more research would be needed.
