Hi there. Long time lurker/researcher yada yada. Through many hours of research and after the wife signed off on the upgrade, I believe I have narrowed it down to one of two setups. The budget is under $1,000, including the receiver. The room is about 15x12 and the main viewing/listening area will be about 11ft from the tv. This setup will be used for pretty much everything(cable, movies, xbox, and music from pc). This will be the first "real" home theater setup that I will have. I will be coming from a HTIB, a Logitech Z-5500 that I bought in 2008 from Compusa for $179.99 due to a screw-up in their advertisement for that week. I am a drummer/sound man so my ear is better than average, but I am new to the home theater world and I would appreciate any help.

The first setup is the Andrews Jones designed Pioneer line:

Or a setup I pieced together myself on Amazon.

Front Floor-Standing:

The A/V Receiver will either be a Yamaha RX-V375 or a Pioneer VSX-823.

Again, thanks for the help in advance.

a couple of suggestions....
1. If you choose not to go with the Pioneer system and start out with the BIC Venturi line, then do not mix a center channel speaker from another manufacturer....... use the matching Venturi center channel speaker, like the DV-62CLRS

2. Of the two subs you mention, the PSW505 is the far superior choice. The 10" model is built to a price point and sounds like it. BIC also makes a nice entry level subwoofer, the F12 or the up scaled PL-200
mtn-tech likes this.
