I'm currently in the process of building a home theater. There will be pillars/ on each side of my screen that will come out 15 inches from the wall and be about 8 inches wide. My speakers will be placed behind an acoustically transparent screen that will be set back a few inches from the pillars. The speakers will be In Wall speakers mounted in a false wall about 10-12 inches infront of the back wall. The screen will hang on the false wall. The speakers will be near the edges of the screen and will be approximately 5 inches from the sides of the pillars. Is this OK or do I need to worry about the pillars blocking the sound? Should I try to mount the screen flush with the sides of the pillars? How much of a recess would work?
