With only four speakers and the room size shown, you really don't need a 70 volt setup. Just put two sets of speakers in series and then put the two sets in parallel tied to the bridged mono amp. This will give you exactly 8 ohms and better overall sound quality plus save the cost of the transformers.
You could also run stereo with a set of speakers in parallel on each channel. That would present a 4 ohm load per channel which is well within the limits of most amplifiers, especially the Crown. Be advised that stereo may not be the best option for background music/TV. Mono might be better acoustically based on your room layout.
Low cost 12 gauge speaker wire is fine at the distances you indicated.
