this all has to do with audio
1. I have a hdmi maxtrix that has both optical and digital coax out. Is there any difference if all I am doing it going from it to a device in question 2?
I do like the coax part as I can custom make my own cables.
2. because of a few 2 channel zones in my house and this matrix I need to convert some stuff from this digital connection to 2 channel audio. example is a ps4. I also want it to be in my game room that has 7.1. but for the odd time I want to use it in my living room I have the 2 channel audio problem.
it is in my matrix. Other things like blu-ray players and apple tv's are an issue as well.
I know Gefen makes something but I have been hearing them failing left right and center.

For what you are doing, it doesn't matter if you use optical or coax.
