Hi everyone... I have a big problem... A small room. Due to the fact I'm 19 I still live at home while going to college. As a result I am in a 10ft wide by 12 long room. I currently have:

Center: Martin Logan encore tf
Front floorstanding: polk audio rti 1000
Surrounds: definitive monitor 350's
Surround back: klipsch dipole (not sure what model)
Sub: paradigm ps 1200

What layout should I have if I cannot put anything on my rear wall behind the seating area. Currently I have the definitives in the back corners of the room set as the main surrounds. The klipschs I have set as the surround backs but mounted on the wall in the middle of the room. Personally I think the definitives destroy the klipschs in quality so therefor I want to keep them as surround mains. The real question I have is will the klipschs in front of the definitives throw the sound off? I know the answer is yes but is it noticeable since the surround rears only produce ambient noise. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you

Try to follow this as close as you can:

Do not put the back speakers in front of the surround speakers.  It would be better to just do a 5.1 setup instead.

God willing, we will prevail in peace and freedom from fear and in true health through the purity and essence of our natural fluids. God bless you all.

I would say a 10 X12 room is way to small for 7.1........ I would opt for 5.1. Also I know you are in college but you may want to consider picking a speaker brand and model line that you like then start selling the other speakers and get matching speakers all the way around.
