New House Setup
Gang, I was hoping to read some FAQs and old posts and not bother you with this, but I couldn't learn what I need to know. I know how frustrating it is when a newbie asks dumb questions. We've just bought our first house, wired for surround sound and I have a very basic question as to what to put where. I have a Bose 5.1 system from my old place and am not opposed to upgrading or downgrading or whatever.
I've attached some photos of whats going on, you can see the back of the TV and two of the 5 speakers in the wall.
There is also a closet which is where my confusion really starts. You can see there are two connectors in the closet on the wall. There is also a panel behind which there are a ton of wires presumably from each of the speaker covers.
I think my questions are:
1. conceptually what is the connector behind the TV and each of the two connectors in the AV closet? (Pictures 4 and 5 below)
2. The ton of wires presumably coming from all of the five speakers should be hooked up to the Bose presumably, but why are they all tied together at the moment, is that just for organization purposes? (Pictures 6 and 7 below)
Apologies again for my ignorance, I'm equally happy for an answer or just an angry response telling me the right place to research this on my own.
