Dynamic Range - Easiest way to fix?

Hi,

I have a few video clips in my external drive which I want to play on my LCD via USB port. I don't have any setup, just using the TV's stereo speakers. However, the dialogue is too soft and the action is too loud. My LCD media player does not have Dynamic Range Compression option.

I would like to know is there any way for me to edit the audio track so that the dynamic range could be compressed permanently? Which software I could use for this purpose? Thanks in advance.

Regards

There is software on the web that splits A/V tracks into audio and video, and other software that edits audio, other software that edits video, and other software that edits both. An example of a commercial package that does all of the above is Adobe Premiere.
