My sister just bought a house with 5.1 in the main room, 2 speakers outside, and 4 in different bedrooms. There are volume knobs in each room. I'm trying to decide the best setup for receiver/amplifier.
Currently I'm thinking of getting a receiver for the main room (5.1) with Zone 2 preout and then wiring that to a stereo amplifier to power the outside and bedroom speakers. It doesn't matter if they're all mono or not, but I'm not sure how I'd wire it to a stereo amplifier or if that will even work.
Does this strategy make sense, or is there a better approach?
How would I wire the stereo amplifier to the speakers (parallel/series)?
Will it work to just use a single stereo amplifier for the 6 speakers or would I need a multi-channel amplifier?
Thanks in advance!
