Hi im very excited to setup my first av receiver with my tv but not sure on what i need to get it wired.
I have read lots but it wasnt much to my understanding.
Tv is a Philips 46PFL37/f7

it has 3 hdmi in.
Coax (orange color)
and analog (white, red) audio out

Any input would be great.
Thanks!

HDMI provides the Digital Picture AND Digital Sound.

Unless something you are connecting to the Pioneer has no HDMI you always use HDMI only.

For something like an old Video Cassette Player you would have to use yellow RCA for video, and Red/White RCA for left/right analog sound.

The beauty of HDMI is only one cord does High Definition Video plus Digital Audio for surround.

Update- I have everything hooked up, got the dvd player working via component cable, android box is going in to the rcvr via hdmi in
and hdmi out from rcvr to tv but im reading hdmi switching on this unit is for video only and no audio ?
Cnet says i need additional audio cables. How is that possible since the android box has no other in/outputs ?
