My "great room" is about 20x40. At the back end of it is our kitchen. At the front end is the 50" HDTV.

What I want to do is:

1. Install surround sound.
2. Install a speaker in the back (in the kitchen) that would allow us to hear dialogue without having to crank the TV from the other end of the room.

What I guess this means is that I need to have 2 center channel speakers, correct?

If so, do you hear all that is "necessary" to hear if you are listening only to the center channel. Example -- if ALL I had on was the center channel, what would I hear?

Does this mean I can "split" the center channel and run it to the back of the room? At that point, I could install a volume control on the line and only turn it on/up when needed.

**Also, are there any receivers with bluetooth capability?

It would be best to use a two-channel analog output (like "Tape Out" or better yet, "Zone 2") connected to a separate amp and then to speakers in the kitchen. This would give you a stereo mix of the movie, so you can hear everything...dialog, music, etc. Listening to a "center-channel only" mix would not be pleasant.

Using a second zone also allows any source to play in the kitchen...radio, CD, TV, movies, etc.
