I've done a lot of reading here at the forums, but still have some questions. If anyone could add some comments, helpful hints, ideas or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
First of all, here is a SketchUp Model .jpg of the room I'm working with.
What I would like to do is set up some surround sound from a 7.1 integrated card from an MCPC, or from a receiver included with a system. I am working on a budget of about 300.
I have two large speakers in the rear, that I could use as the back speakers of a 7.1, or if they cant be brought in, a 5.1 system would be just fine. I think a 6.1 would work really well, but i might be wrong, and i cant find a good 6.1 system.
I was thinking about the Onkyo HT-S590, or a similar system for sub 300. I was wondering if there are any other systems similar to this that might be a better fit for the room, or better bang for the buck.
Also, could I implement some old JVC (80's) speakers into the system, or are they just a bust?
Thanks for any help you guys can give me.
