Paper Thin Speakers using Carbon Nanotubes


Scientists at Tsinghua University in Beijing have demonstrated a way to use carbon nanotubes to emit sound, allowing for a the production of thin flexible film speakers. Unlike other methods of sound production this method produces sound without vibrating at all. This would mean that the film could be overlayed on top of any surface. The following video shows how a flag is used as a flexible waving sound speaker.
