Logo 2 refuses to show on my computer.
The thread loads up incorrectly on Firefox and Chrome. Very strange.

I can see 1 and 3.
Both look no more modern than the existing logo!

What's the point of "upgrading" unless it's actually an upgrade !!?

Agreed.
I actually LIKED the lettering better on LOGO 3... Except make the V it's own stand alone letter and not part of the A... If logo one used the lettering from Logo 3 (except each a separate) letter that would be the best IMO. Or if you simply made each letter it's own in Logo 3 that would be great!!

I prefer 1. The others are a lil hard to read at first glance.

Like the AVStext from logo 1, and the RGB banding from logo 2 or 3.... try that combination.

The only problem with the old logo is there isn't really an "S". People say/think "AVS", not "AV Science". So, #1 is my answer.

Also prefer the color bands from #3, though.

Hello, everyone... new member here!

They all look nice, but I voted for logo #1 because it's very easy to immediately identify with it, and you don't have to think about it for a bit like you do with the others.

May the best logo win...

I like #1. The color bars are nicest too, and look like an "F".

#2 looks like it says A I E

#3 makes me think of AIS Insurace company

#1 looks best to me by far, maybe lean it a little more to the right though so it looks faster

If it were up to me, i'd leave the AVS and colored F level meter just the way it is, but eliminate the gray word FORUM and replace it with the phrase Audio Video Science Forum in small font as a sort of underlining ticker that runs along the bottom directly below the logo.

It never dawned on me that the level meters bars were the letter "F" until just now...I think most people would miss that because the "F" is so dissimilar to the "A", "S" and "V". There's too much disconnect between them in the lack of colors or style in the first three letters that I honestly didn't see the last letter at all.
Has anyone else missed the "F" too?
I do wonder if it might be made more obvious and clear by uniting them all in a similar style or spreading the colors out between the three letters as well.
I know this isn't a thread asking for opinions, but, well...there you have mine.

I think #2 and #3 are both attractive designs, but I have a recognition problem with both of them. #2 invites confusion with the UK forum (AVforum), and #3 accidently looks like "NS" (not effective, I think).

I voted for #1 because it clearly represents "AVS," which is how I always think of the forum in my head.

Nice work.

Change for the sake of change alone can change things in a way that you do not wish to change....I think some Buddha said that or a wise man or a wise guy which may or may not be real at all.

For what it's worth, that is my highfalutin way of saying I like the old one best. It is timeless and known to all.

#1 by far. With that being said, it looks like something that Nascar would do.
But if we had a choice, keep the current logo.

I suggest to keep the old logo otherwise nobody new will know what the S is for. If you have to change it to one of the choices, #1 is the best imho. Another option is to provide more choices and include some that have the acronym spelled out in some way.

#3 with comment. Close off the A as it looks like NS. #1 is traditional but #3 looks... fresh. AV Science without "forum". Gold line above and below AV Science. All you need is Word.

I too think the current logo is better than all three choices here. I'd actually just modify the current logo a bit to look more like the avatar in David Botts first post with the choices.

If I had to take one of the three though, it would be the # 1
