Before I left to attend CE Week in New York City last week, I invited local AVS members to join me at the Rare View Rooftop at Rare Bar & Grill on Thursday evening. When I got there, the rooftop was already at capacity—it was clearly smaller than I expected. So after about 10 folks gathered in the lobby, we were offered a table in one of the restaurant's rooms below street level, which we gratefully accepted. Good thing, too—when we emerged a couple of hours later, it was raining pretty steadily, so the rooftop would have been quite unpleasant after all.
Among the AVS members in attendance were Newsbreakers Mark Henninger (imagic), seen here closest to the camera on the left, and Mark D'Aria (bd2003) across the table from him. We were also joined by Geoff Tully (at the far end of the table on the left next to me), coordinator of the Ultra HD conference at CE Week, and Joe Kane (across from him), one of the speakers at the UHD conference and a highly influential video consultant and author of Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics, a popular setup and test Blu-ray.
A grand time was had by all, and I thank everyone who came out to gather and discuss our favorite topic. Also, special thanks to DTS, which provided copies of its 2013 demo Blu-ray for everyone who attended. I look forward to another meetup in New York the next time I'm there—hopefully, when it's not raining!

My DTS disc got ruined in the rain though.
Surly optical disc is fine, you mean the disc artwork, right?
It was a great meeting, thank you Scott, a special thanks to Mark Henninger I now have a Anker external battery Power supply as well, 20000mAh of back to charge phone, laptop etc, no more outlet hunting at airports for me.
Thank you all
I hope we get to see the new bus somewhere in Texas soon. There is plenty of space for the bus to park in the Lone Star State!
